Broadwing Bride

Annie's gown is stitched silk crepe de chine with hand-spun, undyed wool yarn accents.

Broad Wing Bride is a process-based project chronicling the making of a wedding gown and bolero tie for organic farmers, Annie Hasz and Sean Bonsall. Hand-spun with wool from a ewe on their farm, the garments are a symbol of the couple's deep, daily connection with the natural world around them; and their wish to honor that connection throughout their ceremony and in their life together.  The entire making process is documented in pictures from sheep shearing and spinning to the wedding day itself-- where friends and family gathered to place sprigs of fresh lavender into the yarn accenting Annie's dress.

Annie & Sean's farm, Broad Wing Farm is a community supported vegetable and herb farm in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, USA. If you live nearby, go support their delicious CSA!
